Our homes are the place we find comfort. Where we can take care of ourselves. Where we feel safe and connected. But then why is it that we constantly keep looking for a home outside of ourselves? Why do we think home is somewhere else? If our homes are where our hearts are and our hearts are inside ourselves.
Fair enough, loving others is one of the greatest joys of life. But Teresa’s message today should drive one point home very clearly - you are the most important person in your life. You can take care of others as much as you like, but if you don’t take care of your own hme first, you’ll be left without anywhere to go to recouperate and rest.
So, as you’ve gathered, today it’s time to start focusing on building a good, comfortable home for yourself. But homes serve more than one purpose. Here are some of the things you can focus on to make sure you’re at your very best before venturing out and helping others:
Your body is your soul’s home. It is the temple within which your soul experiences this lif. So it makes perfect sense that your body should be well taken care of. But when was the last time you prepared your favorit healthy meal? For that matter, when was the last time you actually ate a good meal? That’s not even getting into the whole exercise thing. We need to take care of our bodies. They are the houses that keep us alive - literally, and without them we will not be able to serve our purpose here on earth.
This has to do with the spiritual aspect of self-care. We need to make sure that our hearts feel safe and secure. And one of the best ways to do that is to work on your spirituality. Whether than means praying more, or adding a special routine or ritual to symolize your faith to your daily schedule - make sure you do something that makes your heart’s home feel secure in it’s convictions.
Finally, you need to make sure that your heart itself is happy. You need to do the emotional work fr yourself before you can share the warmth of your home with those around you. Some people refer to this as shadow work - but all it really means is getting to the root cause of any discomfort you feel and figuring out why you feel uncomfortable - and then making the changes you need to make to feel better about and accept yourself just the way you are.
These types of home renovations can take time - not to mention tht any DIY project takes a fair ammount of effort too… So give yourself all the time you need to do whatever it is you ned to get done inside your own home. Doing a quick job is not going to help you in the long run. You need to make sure that you work through every step of this self-care period meticulously in order to get the best results.
After all, you wouldn’t wat to live in a home that’s busy falling apart, and neither does your soul. Unfortunately that’s exactly what’s busy happening in your life right now. There’s something wrong with your house, otherwise Teresa would not have told you to take a time out and reevaluate the amount of effort you’re putting into yourself.
Whatever you do, be getle with yourself. There’s no point in swinging the slegdehammer of self-doubt and criticism around right now. Renovations to not necessarily imply demolition. If you find yourself reaching for the sledge hammer, call on your Guardian Angel for some support. They will help you transform any negativity int creative solutions - and soon you’ll have a beautiful home to welcome those you love into.
